Best Google Review Management Software for Local Businesses: Options Compared
Compare review management software by review sources, requests, response controls, location needs, current price terms, and fit for a local business.
ReviewRobot is built for local businesses that want to turn Google reviews into more customers without adding a broad marketing platform. Every review enters one queue with a reply ready to review, so teams can answer faster and keep their Google presence working as a sales channel. Businesses that also need surveys, messaging, listings, or referral campaigns may need a wider suite.
Publisher disclosure: ReviewRobot publishes this article and appears in the comparison. No vendor product was hands-on tested for this draft. ReviewRobot facts come from current internal shipped-product signoff and its live official pages; competitor facts come from official vendor documentation and remain documentation-only.
Which review management software fits your business?
Start with the job, not the logo. ReviewRobot fits a team focused on Google reviews and human-approved replies. NiceJob adds request and referral campaigns. GatherUp combines reviews with feedback and surveys, while BrightLocal ties review work to local search. Podium centers customer communication. Birdeye and ReviewTrackers serve broader, multi-location reputation operations.

How we compared the tools
The snapshot date is August 23, 2026. We checked each vendor's official feature and pricing pages for review sources, request channels, response modes, multi-location support, team controls, work outside review response, and public price terms. A feature shown only in vendor documentation is labeled documentation-only. A detail missing or unclear on those pages stays unconfirmed.
No numerical score appears because we didn't run the products through the same controlled test. Price rows state currency, cadence, location assumption, and checked date; quote-only products don't receive an estimated amount.

ReviewRobot for a Google-focused approval workflow
ReviewRobot monitors connected Google reviews, prepares a personalized AI draft, notifies the owner or team, and lets a person edit, regenerate, or approve the reply. Nothing publishes until a person approves it. Read ReviewRobot's response workflow for the current product scope; that link reflects the same page checked at reviewrobot.ai/product.
It isn't a multi-platform reputation suite, listings manager, survey platform, social tool, or customer-messaging inbox. That narrower scope may suit a local business that wants Google review handling without buying several unrelated modules.
The live ReviewRobot pricing, checked August 23, 2026 against internal billing truth at reviewrobot.ai/pricing, showed Basic at USD $99/month for 1 location and 1 user, Pro at USD $199/month for up to 3 locations and 3 users, and Scale at USD $499/month for up to 10 locations and 10 users. Those are monthly-billing figures; annual discounts require a fresh check before publication.
NiceJob for review requests, referrals, and reputation marketing
NiceJob's product overview and official pricing page list review-request automation, follow-up reminders, monitoring, website widgets, social sharing, and integrations in its Reviews plan. Pro adds referral campaigns, booking reminders, gifting, competitor insights, NPS surveys, and automated AI replies (NiceJob pricing, checked August 23, 2026).
The page showed Reviews at USD $75/month and Pro at USD $125/month. It routes enterprise, franchise, and multi-location buyers to custom pricing, and the public text we checked didn't establish how many locations the standard price includes. NiceJob deserves a closer look if requests and referrals matter as much as replies.
GatherUp for feedback, surveys, and review workflows
GatherUp's public plans include monitoring across 100+ sites, SMS and email credits, feedback and review options, QR codes, NPS surveys, integrations, reporting, notifications, and AI-crafted replies (GatherUp pricing, checked August 23, 2026).
The official monthly selection showed USD $99/month for one location and USD $60/month per location for 2–10 locations. Larger bands and agency terms need direct confirmation. GatherUp fits a business that wants structured feedback and surveys alongside public-review work; a buyer should still verify reply approval controls and credit overages.
BrightLocal for reviews tied to local search work
BrightLocal places review monitoring and requests beside local rank tracking, citation work, listings, GBP audits, and reporting. Its help documentation says connected Google and Facebook reviews can be monitored and answered inside the report; its current platform page also lists email, SMS, and in-store request campaigns (Reputation Manager documentation, checked August 23, 2026).
Price needs another check. The main BrightLocal pricing page rendered “price on request” for Track, Manage, and Grow in our source session, while the official BrightLocal cost article showed fixed location-based figures. We didn't print a subscription amount because the two official views didn't agree in one session.
Podium for messaging-led customer communication
Podium's reviews page describes AI-crafted review invites and replies, reminder automation, a multi-platform inbox, reporting, contact profiles, and mobile access (Podium Reviews, checked August 23, 2026). That makes it a wider communications choice than a reply-only tool.
The official pricing page asked the buyer to choose an industry and request a custom quote; no fixed amount was visible (Podium pricing, checked August 23, 2026). Ask the sales team which channels, locations, users, integrations, and human-approval controls sit in the quoted package.
Birdeye for broader multi-location reputation operations
Birdeye's official Reviews page lists review generation and management across 200+ sites, one inbox, response templates and rules, review amplification, NPS, response-time tracking, and dashboards (Birdeye Reviews, checked August 23, 2026). Its review-management overview also describes its broader multi-location scope.
Pricing depends on the number of locations and the products deployed; the form uses bands beginning at 1–3 locations and doesn't show a fixed amount (Birdeye pricing, checked August 23, 2026). See the separate Birdeye alternatives guide if Birdeye-specific fit or switching is your real question.
ReviewTrackers for multi-site monitoring and analysis
ReviewTrackers says its platform combines data from 100+ sources. Its Starter description includes alerts, dashboards, review and feedback requests, and responding; Essential adds experience analysis and competitor insights, while local listings appears as an add-on (ReviewTrackers plans, checked August 23, 2026).
The price control is location-based and says billing is annual, but it didn't expose a usable amount in the checked page. Treat it as a custom per-location quote. Verify export formats, source coverage, AI approval controls, listing costs, and mobile access through the vendor's demo route.
What each option does not cover
Public documentation rarely proves every limitation, so this table records the boundary we could support rather than guessing at absence.
| Option | Boundary to verify before buying |
|---|---|
| ReviewRobot | No multi-platform reviews, listings, surveys, social, or messaging suite in the approved shipped scope |
| NiceJob | Standard-plan location count and staff approval behavior were unconfirmed |
| GatherUp | Exact human approval controls, larger-location rates, add-ons, and credit overages need confirmation |
| BrightLocal | Current subscription amount and AI reply controls didn't resolve cleanly in the official pages |
| Podium | Package contents, locations, users, price, and reply approval behavior require a quote |
| Birdeye | Exact module bundle, price, contract terms, and response approval mode require a quote |
| ReviewTrackers | Fixed price, export terms, source-level limits, and AI approval behavior weren't public in the checked page |
How to test a review platform before buying
Use the same 30-minute script with every vendor. Don't let a polished demo replace the awkward cases.
- Add a new positive review and find it in the queue.
- Open a sensitive negative review and see who can draft, edit, approve, and publish.
- Assign or hand off the review to another staff member.
- Put the review on the wrong location, then recover it without losing history.
- Break or disconnect an integration and inspect the failure notice.
- Find cancellation, renewal, data-retention, and export terms.
- Export the review record and check whether replies, assignments, and activity history come with it.
Record tested, documentation-only, or unconfirmed beside every answer. A claim made during a demo should still point to a contract term or current help page when it affects the purchase.
Method, source dates, and limits
All external pages in this draft were checked on August 23, 2026. Prices need another check within 24 hours of publication approval. We didn't test NiceJob, GatherUp, BrightLocal, Podium, Birdeye, or ReviewTrackers, and we don't repeat vendor performance promises as established outcomes.
ReviewRobot's inclusion creates a publisher conflict, so the article doesn't name a winner or assign scores. A buyer should shortlist by job, run the same script, compare final written terms, and reject any row that remains unconfirmed when it matters to the decision.
