Your Google review link: how to create it and where to put it

Where to find your short review URL and the five places it belongs.

Every review you will ever get starts with a customer finding the review form. Your job is to make that one tap. Google gives every verified business a short link that opens the five-star box directly; here is where it lives and the five places it should already be.

Where to find your short review link

Open your Google Business Profile (search your business name while signed in, or use business.google.com), then look for "Ask for reviews". Google shows your short link in the g.page/r/ format, ready to copy. The same link is under the profile's share options. If you cannot see it, your profile may be unverified or suspended; fix that first with our reinstatement guide.

Test it like a customer

Before the link goes anywhere, open it in a private window on your phone. It should land straight on the rating box with your business name above it, one tap from typing. If it opens a search page or the wrong location, grab the link again from the profile it belongs to. Multi-location businesses need one link per location, labeled clearly, because reviews left on the wrong location cannot be moved.

The five places it belongs

The follow-up text. The single highest-converting placement. Send it within hours of service with one warm sentence; our asking scripts have the exact wording.
Receipts and invoices. Paper or emailed, a printed short link or QR code catches customers at the natural end of the transaction.
Your email signature. Every routine email becomes a quiet ask, with zero extra effort forever.
The thank-you page or booking confirmation. The customer is already on a screen feeling done; give the next tap a purpose.
The counter. A small QR code where customers wait or pay. Frame it with one line, not a poster of instructions.

Keep it inside the rules

The link changes where you ask, not who. Share it with every customer, never only the happy ones, and never attach a reward to using it; both are policy violations with real consequences, covered in our incentive rules guide. The link plus a steady ask is the whole system: no gating screens, no rating filters, just less friction between a happy customer and the form.

Common questions

Does my review link ever expire?

No. The g.page short link stays valid as long as the profile is verified. It only breaks if the listing is suspended or merged, so re-test it after any profile trouble.

Can I make a QR code from it?

Yes, any QR generator works with the short link. Print it at least an inch wide, put one plain sentence next to it, and scan-test the print before you laminate anything.

One link for several locations?

No. Each location has its own link tied to its own listing. Label them by location wherever your team copies them from, because misdirected reviews cannot be transferred.
